The intention of this website is give you an insight into Great Baddow High School and provide useful information.

You may be a prospective parent and are looking for a school for your child. It is my firm belief that a proper understanding can only be gained by actually coming to the school and having a look around for yourself during a working day. If you do this, you will see buildings that are pleasant, modern and well-equipped. We are proud of the fact that we have a curriculum that offers modern technology subjects, with computers as an integral tool, whilst retaining the subjects with traditional values.

We expect a large percentage of our students to stay on into our sixth form and we have a superb sixth form centre for them.

We are very proud that the school has gained the status of SPECIALIST SPORTS COLLEGE - one of only five in Essex. We are a centre of excellence for sport in the region and have achieved many sporting successes at both District and National level.

ANDY MCNAB VISITS G.B.H.S.

On Wednesday, 27 February the school was highly honoured to receive a visit by the renowned author Andy McNab.

Ex-SAS member Mr McNab's visit was shrouded in secrecy - staff and students knew we were expecting a visit by an author but had no idea who it would be. Because of Mr McNab's background the school was sworn to secrecy over his visit, which was kept a secret from most staff and all the students until the actual day.

The visit had come about due to one of our Year 11 students, Nick Kilbey. who wrote to Mr McNab and asked him to visit the school.

Mr McNab was accompanied by Robert Rigby, the co-author of his books aimed at younger readers.

Students and staff were able to purchase books which Mr McNab and Mr Rigby were very happy to sign. A press release giving full information on the visit has been sent to the local press.

U16 girls come second in the Country for Netball.

Year 10 boys win DIstrict Seven a side and 15 a side competition.

Great Baddow win a hat trick of County titles in Basketball.
